'Tread Lightly' - Wood Sculpture

Wooden sculpture of an elephant very carefully making his way through a flower garden. Built by Abigail from wood she has found on her travels in woodlands and beaches, in the UK and overseas.
Each piece is carefully selected for it's unique qualities of shape or markings. Abigail then works with small hand tools to build each individual piece: hand saws, carving knife, chisels, belt-sander, rotary tool and sandpaper
The final colouring is added with spray paint, often working back into surfaces to reveal layers underneath.
It is a highly fragile piece to be handled with great care.
