Original sculptural collage artwork, painted in emulsion paint.

Built from hand-cut cardboard elements of plant life, manipulated and layered to create a sculptural relief environment that houses the Chestnut-Headed Bee-Eater, a bird native to Sri Lanka that Abigail spotted on a trip there in 2022.

The collages are painted in a single joyful colour that requires the viewer to look a little harder, exploring ideas of vanishing wildlife and their natural habitats at the hands of human interference.
They offer a chance to contemplate how important the existence of these wondrous animals on our shared planet is.


The pieces are mounted on board, signed and dated.

The board measures: 30cm H x 40cm L.
