Join Abigail for a day of fabric bird making. In this 1-day workshop you’ll learn how the bird’s pattern is created and constructed, then with your chosen coloured bird already sewn in advance, you’ll learn how to insert the wire armature, shape the legs, solder the feet and how to stuff it to fill out it’s shape.
Following demonstrations of various fabric manipulation techniques that can be used to create wings, tail, ruffled breasts and fabulous crests, you’ll be set free to get creative with the mountains of multicoloured plain and patterned fabrics and make your own unique fabric bird sculpture.
Whilst there will be plenty of fabrics and threads of all colours for you to work with, you are welcome to bring along any of your own that you may also wish to work with..
The skill level required would be beginners/ intermediate.
